Hazel Brugger is at “LOL” for the fourth time. In an interview, she reveals what makes this season so special and who surprised it.

On April 17, the sixth season of “LOL: Last One Laughing” starts at Prime Video. Also present: comedian Hazel Brugger (31), who has tried her luck three times and is now targeting the victory again. In an interview with the news agency Spot on News, Brugger reveals what she has ahead of her competitor – and what disturbs her despite the success of “LOL”.

You can be seen for the fourth time at “LOL: Last One Laughing” – how does it feel to be there again?

Hazel Brugger: I am the oldest “LOL” participant – that’s incredible. There are ten participants, there are six hours. The rules are very clear: you shouldn’t laugh, but at the same time you should make other people laugh. Such a simple concept, actually, and yet it is totally unique every time and you never know what will happen – that’s just cool.

Does your “LOL” experience bring advantages or do you feel the pressure to deliver particularly well?

Brugger: This print is mainly homemade. You don’t have to have it, it makes it worse. I think the good thing about having experienced this has been experienced more often is that you learn not to take these irritation that arises within you. It is irritating to have the feeling of not being liked. You interpret it directly as: “They all don’t laugh. Ah, they all hate me.” Now that I went through for the fourth time, this is not that. I can abstract this and I believe that this gives you a certain looseness. But what, if you participate for the first time, is better, this “I’m now giving everything” setting. Because you don’t yet know how to divide your energy.

In the sixth season – apart from you and Ralf Schmitz – only new participants are there. Who surprised her the most?

Brugger: Jürgen Vogel. It is really blatant, and luckily that’s the way it is. I’ve been a huge fan of Jürgen Vogel for a long time, and it would have been so disappointed if I hadn’t found him funny … but he gave everything and I am happy that I was able to experience it with him.

How do you succeed in separating this? They are in use as a professional in the show, but privately they are a fan at the same time …

Brugger: I have seen a few times that I got to know people from whom I am a fan. At that moment you can abstract it.

Despite all the fun that “LOL” brings with it, are there also moments that you do not find so positive?

Brugger: This more or less dead time when one highlight is not hunting the other. What disturbs me the most about these moments is that you do not go and breathe deeply. One always wonders: “Why is there no gag explosion here?” In retrospect, that annoys me that I can’t accept it that way.

What makes the sixth season special?

Brugger: It is an insane enrichment for the format and especially for the sixth season that there are so many new faces. Eight out of ten participants have no “LOL” experience – that has a positive effect on the format.

They have been part of the comedy world for a long time. How has your humor changed over the years, also with regard to the new “LOL” relay?

Brugger: I’m less and less too fine for something. Comedy and pride just don’t go together.

The sixth season of “LOL: Last One Laughing” starts with the first two episodes on April 17, 2025. From April 17, two new episodes will also be seen on Thursdays from 8:15 p.m. at the new Prime station in the Live TV area of Prime Video.
