“Black Mirror”: Seventh season starts weaker

Netflix has released six new episodes by Charlie Brooker’s anthology series “Black Mirror”. They are accessed much less often than the new episodes before.

The popular science fiction series “Black Mirror” put a weaker start with its seventh season at the Netflix streaming service than the sixth two years ago. In the first four days (since April 10th), around 7.1 million calls were counted for the six new episodes, as can be seen from Netflix’s weekly charts published by the Tuesday evening (for the period 7.7. April 13).

Season six, which was published on June 15, 2023, said Netflix, according to Netflix, around 11.3 million calls in the first four days (with five episodes).

“Black Mirror” shows stories completed in their episodes as an anthology series. In terms of content, the consequences do not build on each other and have different figures and characters. But you have a connecting topic: it is always about the (negative) effects of technology and media on society and individual people.

The title “Black Mirror” refers to the dark shiny screens in our everyday life, i.e. smartphones, computers and television.

The head and author of the series is the 54 -year -old Englishman Charlie Brooker. The seventh season has a more nostalgic touch compared to previous ones, as Brooker itself says.
