Peter Maffay: Accident for romping with wife and daughter

Music legend Peter Maffay may be 75 years old, but he still doesn’t think much of adulthood. As he revealed in an interview, for example, he still likes to play with his family – despite painful consequences: “Two or three days ago, Hendrikje and I hunted through the apartment – until I ran against a door. At that moment it was great fun for her and Anouk, of course they were dead. Due to the injury, he canceled two autograph sessions planned for April 24 and 25.

The skirt singer has never completely said goodbye to the childish and recommends it to others. “I think I still like to be a child’s head today. Certainly not continuously, that would not be endured either,” continued Maffay. He added: “Because in childhood, in the carefree, such an extremely beautiful quality is hidden that should never be given up.”

He was particularly fascinated by the impartial kind of his six -year -old daughter Anouk: “It is so fascinating how open and carefree she is stuck into her life because she has no injuries yet because she has never been cheated and has never experienced anything bad.” There is also a great responsibility: “To preserve it in a world that is going out of the glue.” Together with his wife Hendrikje Balsmeyer (38), Maffay writes children’s books that are inspired by the daughter. The two married in April 2022 after they had become parents in November 2018.

In conversation with the newspaper, Maffay also reflected on his cult song “It was summer”, in which a 16-year-old becomes a man after the night with a 31-year-old. Unlike his song figure, he did not feel grown up spontaneously after his first time: “I think this feeling of adulthood does not depend on a single experience. This is a mosaic of many cuts.”
