Pop singer Darren Hayes shares frightening news with his fans: the 52-year-old had an accident.
Darren Hayes (52) made his “terrible accident” public. The former singer of the Australian pop band Savage Garden now shares a disturbing statement. On March 17, exactly two months after the death of his mother, he had a “terrible accident”: after Hayes got out of bed, he “broke together three times”.
“The blunt violence was so strong that my left jawbone broke into two parts. When I woke up, I was lying in a laugh, terrible pain in the left head of the head and nine teeth were smashed,” reports the 52-year-old. Fortunately, the musician was found and taken to a hospital “where you acted quickly. I could have died if I had ended up in a different position.”
Darren Hayes is still being treated
Hayes then had to undergo emergency surgery in which his jawbones were connected to a titanium clip. His mouth is now “wired for at least eight weeks”. The singer emphasizes: “I am in incredible treatment. I have an excellent cardiologist and jaw surgeon, and we try to find out how and why I fainted.” Even before the fall, he suffered from feelings of dizziness and fainting. However, his heart and arteries are inconspicuous, however, a brain tumor can also be excluded. In addition, Hayes emphasizes not to consume alcohol or drugs.
There are difficult times behind the musician
Hayes tried to keep what happened, “but my long recovery phase makes it easier to admit the truth”. It was important to him to explain to his fans why he would hardly be active in the coming time. “I love you, people. I am so grateful that I am alive and I get stronger every day,” Hayes shows optimistic.
Despite all of this, the singer confesses: “After surviving a brutal divorce, lost my mother, learning that my father died, and then I have experienced moments of deep sadness.” However, he was a “survival artist” and just starts to “feel better” around a month after his accident.
In the 90s he became world famous
Founded in 1993, Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones (53) celebrated great success with songs such as “Truly Madly Deeply” and “I Want You”. In 2001 the musicians separated – according to Hayes, because Jones did not like life in the spotlight. Since then, the Australian has been on the road as a solo artist. He was married twice privately: from 1994 to 2000 Hayes was in a relationship with Visagist Colby Taylor. Six years later, he gave the director Richard Cullen (54) the yes – last year the divorce followed.
