Siffie sings of new energy and old pain

Her TikTok hit “Forever Spring” went viral last year and became the song on the demonstrations for democracy. Now the Wahl Mannheimer brings out a very personal mini album.

Her viral hit “Forever Spring” moved not only on the demonstrations for democracy more than a year ago: the Wahl-Mannheimer Siffie dreamed of a better world and put her thoughts lovingly and sonorous in words. Her first mini album “on the way” will be released on April 25 and tells of the great feelings of everyday life, also offers danceable music and lines of text to think.

In “Jana”, for example, the 25-year-old sings about a young woman looking for herself. “And when the sun goes down, even if nobody sees you, you really know who you are and for whom you just live?”. In the end, Jana frees herself – and tears down the bare walls with the sledge hammer.

A man on Tikkok inspired her to the song “Jana”

Siffie, who was born as Aspacher in Backnang near Stuttgart, felt inspired by a man on Tiktok. “He posted that he lives so unnoticed that he doesn’t even notice his parents when he renovates his entire room,” says Suffie in a conversation in a Mannheim espresso bar. She touched that. “But the more I wrote, the more I wrote the song about myself.”

The success of “Forever Spring” last year inspired her. “I think all January, February, March, I was just so happy because I knew: that was it now. It happened what I always hoped for.” She knew: “Okay, it’s my job now, and now I can live on it, and now I will no longer step as water as the two or three years before.”

56 million times were clicked on Spotify “Forever Spring”

The song has now been called up more than 56 million times at Spotify. Siffie appeared as a opening act by Mark Forster, played on almost 40 festivals last summer, and went on tour in October. The former student of the Mannheim pop academy therefore also plays the piano and bass, at the moment she also learns guitar.

The artist describes her mini album with five pieces (plus outro) as “energetic”, “versatile” and “honest” – it does not refer to the political world situation. “I have to feel things that I can write something about it,” says Siffie. “These have been more personal issues lately and so this feeling of: It starts now.”

“Poltergeist” is about old love pain

So Siffie sings in “Energy” when things go really well, in “Show me” again not to pay attention to yourself. “Guide me, flew too high, burned in the sun, I ignite when I start glow, you will delete me then?” Says there. In the slow “poltergeist” she tells of old love pain.

“I love these moments when music sounds very, very big and very powerful and a bit like a storm,” says Siffie. Your artist name with the “FF” therefore also remind you of the musical fortissimo – Italian for “very loud”.
