With a humorous photo, the Danish Princess Isabella would like to thank her for her 18th birthday.

One day after the 18th birthday of Princess Isabella, the Danish royal family published an unusual photo of King Frederik X. (56) and Queen Mary (53). The young woman in royal clothing, including the tiara and sash, can be seen on it – but also with a cell phone in her hands.

“That means a lot to me”

The humorous snapshot was apparently created on the edge of the shooting for Isabella’s first official gala portraits, which were made available to the public on April 21 on April 21. “Many thanks to everyone who helped me celebrate my 18th birthday. It was really nice that so many people spent their time, thoughts and effort with making my day so special. That means a lot to me,” said the princess.

Tiara dates from the 19th century

Because the Tiara in particular has a special story. Isabella received her from her grandmother, Queen Margrethe (85) on the occasion of her age. The piece of jewelry is a so -called “bandeau” (French for headband). The relatively narrow tiara is intended to be worn almost horizontally like a jewelry tape in the hair. It is made of gold and is decorated with elf rosettes made of daisy -like flowers from turquoise and diamonds.

The Tiara was manufactured in the late 19th century and once belonged to Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden. After her early death in 1920, her daughter, Princess Ingrid, received the diadem as a confirmation gift. At her wedding with the later Frederik IX. she brought it to Denmark. As the royal family still revealed, the Tiara could also be dismantled and worn as a bracelet.

Danish royal couple has four children

Princess Isabella’s 18th birthday has been celebrated with various events in recent weeks. She is the second oldest daughter of the royal couple and, after her older brother Crown Prince Christian (19), stands in second place in the Danish succession, in front of her younger siblings, the twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine (14).
