On their 14th wedding anniversary, Prince William and his wife Kate will travel to the crown – but in a special place.

On April 29, Prince William (42) and Princess Kate (43) can celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary. And that in a place to which you have a very special connection. Because as British media report, the couple is expected around their special day in Scotland. There the two got to know each other at the university. At their anniversary of the marriage, they will be on a small Scottish island.

The paths of the British heir to the throne and his wife first crossed the University of St Andrews in 2001. 24 years later, they travel to the Isle of Mull in front of the west coast of Scotland at the end of April for a two -day stay. There they will highlight the “importance of protection and the promotion of the natural environment”.

First, the royal couple will visit the city of TOBERMORY, where the popular BBC children’s television series “Balamory” was shot. There the two are to visit a hall, which is considered the meeting point of the residents, as well as a producer market at the port of the city. On the last day, William and Kate will meet with rangers in the Ardura Community Forest and join a school group while learning outdoors.

Her love began at Scottish University

There is probably not much time for a private celebration in view of the full schedule – but the trip to Scotland should be emotional for the prince and the princess. Perhaps they remember the beginnings of their more than 20-year relationship: First, they became friends at the university, where Kate worked towards their degree in art history, while William, who originally enrolled for art history, switched to geography. As is well known, Kate is said to have attracted the attention of the young prince in the spring of her first university year in a charity fashion show.

During their second academic year they moved “as friends” to an apartment with friends, but “from then on it just bloomed,” said the prince in 2010 in the couple’s official engagement interview. The wedding then took place on April 29, 2011 in a large ceremony in the Westminster Abbey. Three children crowned their love.

They look back on a difficult year

The 14th anniversary should also be special because Kate survived her cancer. William had explained that in 2024 after the cancer diagnosis at Kate and his father Charles III.
