Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles fought against breast cancer

Tina Knowles looks back on a lot of life experience at the age of 71. The mother of superstar Beyoncé reports on ups and downs on 432 pages – and a diagnosis.

Tina Knowles is not just the mother of superstar Beyoncé. She has also become known herself and is currently on promotional tour to her memoir “matriarch”. In it, the 71-year-old reveals private ups and downs-including a breast cancer diagnosis.

In July last year, Tina Knowles was completely caught when the doctors discovered cancer in stage 1 in their left breast. The 71-year-old received the shock diagnosis shortly after she and daughter Beyoncé brought her hair care line Cécred onto the market and during her final work on her book (appeared on April 25th in German). “I wrestled with myself if I was this trip [in dem Buch] should share because it is very private. But I decided to do this because I believe that other women can learn a lot from it, “she says in advance. She would like to remind you of life -saving preventive examinations and mammographies.

She appeals: “I think that we women are sometimes so busy and have so much around the ears, but you have to do your test. Because if I didn’t do my test early, I mean, I don’t want to think about what could have happened to me.” She herself missed a planned mammography two years ago because of Covid.

Tina Knowles is cancer -free today

Tina Knowles underwent an operation at the end of last year to remove the tumor and a breast reduction. “I’m great,” she says today. “I am blessed and incredibly blessed that God allowed me to discover the tumor early.” But she could have prevented cancer growth in stage 1. “I didn’t know that there was a stage 0. I could have recognized it at stage 0 if I hadn’t missed my mammography.”

It was still a shock for the famous family. Beyoncé, Knowles writes, “took it well, remained positive, and I could already feel how her mind raced and she focused on this task that she had to approach with precision.” To protect her daughter, she emphasizes further speculation that no breast cancer genes were found and that there was no history in her family for this disease.

Speaking of speculation about her world-famous daughter: In the “World’s Most Beautiful” edition of “People”, the matriarch also speaks about the that Beyoncé is not said to have held her firstborn Blue Ivy herself. “My family is so valuable to me and babies are so sacred. (…) It was the worst because I couldn’t say anything. My daughter said: ‘No, you will only make the story bigger.’ It is one of the most painful things for me that people can be so disgusting. ” Your family is famous, but they are still people “and it hurts”.
