Even at 77, Carlos Santana is still on stage regularly. Health does not play in Texas.
Guitar legend Carlos Santana (“Smooth”) has canceled a concert in San Antonio in the US state of Texas for health reasons. The 77-year-old was taken to a hospital for observation, his manager said, according to media reports, on Tuesday (local time). The doctors had found dehydration in the musician, i.e. a lack of water in the body.
“He is fine and he is looking forward to returning to San Antonio and continuing his US tour,” said a statement by manager Michael Vrionis. The concert will soon be made up for. At first there was no information about the other appearances planned this week.
The guitarist, born in Mexico, had recently started his “OneMess” tour in the United States, which will also lead him to Europe in June. Concerts in Germany are also planned according to the tour plan.
Problems with lack of fluids before
Santana had already had to cancel some shows in Las Vegas in January. At that time, according to his management, he was heavily overturned on a walk in Hawaii, where he owned a house, had broken the little finger of the left hand. In 2022, the musician collapsed on stage at a concert in the USA. The management said at the time.
Born in Mexico in 1947, Santana and his band rose to the star at the legendary Woodstock Festival from 1969. The multiple Grammy winner is considered the inventor of the Latin rock. He has been a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 1998. His classics include “Black Magic Woman”, “Samba Pa Ti” and a guitar -hugging version of “Oye Como VA”.
