Who their children call “aunt”
In the podcast, Meghan reveals that her two children have a close bond with her friend Kadi Lee, whom she describes as a “aunt”.
Duchess Meghan (43) also gives an insight her family love. As the wife of Prince Harry (40) reveals in conversation, her children Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3) call her hairdresser and girlfriend Kadi Lee lovingly as “Aunt Kadi”. Lee is a co-founder of the Highbrow Hippie hair brand, in which Meghan also invested last November.
“Our children love Aunt Kadi, there is nothing better for us than running off as soon as your car drives up, and ‘Kadi!’ Call, “enthuses the Duchess of Sussex in the third episode of the podcast. Lee, who does not have their own children, call himself a “super aunt” and replies: “I know I always look for them first!”
It is not the first time that Meghan calls a close girlfriend as a “aunt” for her children. Already last month she called Tennis icon Serena Williams (43) in an online contribution “Aunt” by Lilibet.
Who belongs to the closest family?
It is striking that Meghan does not mention Princess Kate (43) in this context, who, as a wife of Harry’s brother Prince William (42), is the actual aunt of Archie and Lilibet. Kate had met Archie a week after his birth in May 2019. However, it is not known whether she has ever met Lilibet. In June 2021, shortly after the birth of the girl, Kate said: “I can’t wait to meet her. We haven’t met her yet. I hope that will be soon.”
After all, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), according to which Lilibet is named, is said to have met her great child child in a family visit to the Sussexes in Harry’s home in June 2022.
As is well known, relationships within the Markle family, Meghan’s girl’s name, are also complicated. According to media reports, Archie and Lilibet have no relationship with Meghan’s family. Meghans half -sister Samantha Markle and her father Thomas Markle Sr. have no more contact with her. Meghan has also had no connection to her half -brother Thomas Markle Jr. and his wife for a long time.
The only exception here: Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland. From the beginning she took care of her grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
New name for your lifestyle company
In the same podcast episode, Meghan also comments on her lifestyle company, which was originally known as “American Riviera Orchard”. It describes the earlier name as “word salad” and admits: “I didn’t like that so much.” After problems with the US patent and trademark office, which does not allow geographical names to be patented, she finally named her company in “As ever”. The Duchess said she had already secured the name “AS Ever” in 2022.
Duchess Meghan’s new podcast “Confessions of a Female Founder” comprises a total of eight episodes and is her second podcast after “Archetypes”. In the episodes, Meghan not only shares her own experience as a founder, including her new lifestyle brand “As ever”, but also has “inspiring” conversations with other founders who have developed “small ideas for successful companies”.
