Linda Evangelista had it very difficult. The model tells that it tries to learn to love yourself.

Linda Evangelista (59) was one of the legendary supermodels from the 1990s. Later, however, she disappeared and reported that it was “deformed” after a beauty intervention. She also made her fight against breast cancer. Evangelista now speaks, among other things, about the psychological stress that was accompanied by everything.

Linda Evangelista didn’t think she was beautiful

In the 90s, the model became the worldwide epitome of beauty alongside colleagues such as Cindy Crawford (59) or Naomi Campbell (54). At that time nobody told her that she was beautiful. “I didn’t walk around and thought I was nice,” says Evangelista in. The attention was not taken up as a person, but her work.

“I was never told that I was nice,” says the 59-year-old today. For example, she heard that her hair looks great, but “nobody said: ‘Linda, you are beautiful.'” For this reason, she tells the people she loves, how beautiful you are: “I tell my nephew, I tell my friends, and I particularly tell my son how nice he is because I think it is important to hear that.”

Beauty you earn yourself

“I really believe that beauty is something you deserve,” says Evangelista’s view. It is not about youthfulness or perfection. Her grandmothers who had to go through the war would have had “so beautiful” faces. “It had nothing to do with perfection or youth.”

She herself has also had very difficult years. “I was brutally distorted” ,. Complications occurred around five years earlier in a beauty treatment. Instead of reducing fat cells on several parts of the body, the intervention caused the opposite. She had deeply depressed the unsuccessful treatment and finally made a “hermit”.

“I have to do a therapy so that I like what I see when I look in the mirror and I still don’t look in the mirror. I didn’t want to see myself because I didn’t love or liked myself,” says Evangelista now. But she is working on it, “and I try to like myself, with all my mistakes, and to love myself”.

“I don’t care how I older”

In one, she also made public in 2023 that breast cancer was discovered in 2018. Evangelista opted for a mastectomy on both sides. “Breast cancer will not kill me,” she said.

“I don’t care how I older. I just want to age,” she explains today. It does not have to be “dignified” that she only wants to “really, really, really not die. I still have so much to do. I am slowly feeling comfortable with myself and with everything, and now I want to enjoy it.”

For years she felt as if all the eyes were on her. She no longer has this feeling. “And I have no problem with that,” she says. She was happy not to live a life like at her flowering. Evangelista seems to be her son Augustin (18), whom she calls Augie. “I want to be a grandmother, but not in the immediate future,” says the model. “I live. I live. I live and I’ll do what I have to do. I’ll fight because I don’t want it to be. I’m not finished yet
