Who is newly included in the Hall of Fame
It is a special honor for musicians: admission to the Hall of Fame of rock and roll music. This honor is now being given to seven interpreters.
The “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” has seven new additions. The interpreters are thus honored for their originality and historical influence on rock-and-roll music, as the Hall of Fame announced.
The newcomers include: the rock bands Bad Company, The White Stripes and Soundgarden, the rock’n’roll singer Chubby Checker, the late rock and blues legend Joe Cocker, the star singer Cyndi Lauper and the hip-hop duo outkast.
Three of the new additions have already been nominated
In November, the musicians are to be symbolically included in the fame hall at a ceremony. “Her music gave generations a voice and influenced countless artists who entered their footsteps,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Hall of Fame.
The first publication of the artists must be at least 25 years ago to include the Hall of Fame. Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden and The White Stripes were already to choose from for the award in other years. 7 of the 14 candidates who were also nominated for admission to the Hall of Fame were empty, including Mariah Carey, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order and Oasis.
Eight artists and bands were recorded last year, underneath, including Ozzy Osbourne, Mary J. Blige, Foreigner and Dave Matthew’s band.
