There is a difficult year behind them: Prince William and Princess Kate celebrate their wedding day on Tuesday. They spend him with an emotional journey.
On April 29, Prince William and Duchess Kate celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary – in a place to which they have a special connection. As British media report, the couple is expected in Scotland. There the two got to know each other at the university. At their anniversary of the marriage, they will be on a small Scottish island.
The paths of the British heir to the throne and his wife first crossed the University of St. Andrews in 2001. 24 years later, they travel to the Isle of Mull in front of the west coast of Scotland for a two -day stay. There they want to set a statement to protect the environment.
After your arrival on Tuesday, the Prince and the Princess of Wales will be visited by a handicraft market in the village of TOBERMORY and a farm. On Wednesday, the couple will meet school children in a forest and take part in a lesson outdoors. At the end of your visit, drive the ferry to the small neighboring island of Iona.
Duchess Kate and Prince William have known each other for 24 years
There is probably not much time for a private celebration in view of the full schedule. Nevertheless, the trip to Scotland should become emotional for the prince and the princess. Perhaps they remember the beginnings of their more than 20-year relationship: First, they became friends at the university, where Kate worked towards their degree in art history, while William, who originally enrolled for art history, switched to geography. Kate is said to have attracted the attention of the young prince in the spring of her first university year in a charity fashion show.
During their second academic year they moved “as friends” to an apartment with friends, but “from then on it just bloomed,” said the prince in 2010 in the couple’s official engagement interview. On April 29, 2011, the two in the Westminster Abbey said yes to millions of television viewers. William and Kate now try to keep their private and family life with her three children, the eleven-year-old Prince George, the nine-year-old Princess Charlotte and the seven-year-old Prince Louis.
This anniversary should also be special because Kate survived her cancer. William had explained that in 2024 after the cancer diagnosis at Kate and his father Charles III. “The hardest year” of his life was. In September, the princess announced that she had completed her “preventive chemotherapy”. The way to “complete healing and recovery” was still a long time, she said at the time. In the meantime, however, it is increasing again in public.
