Joe Laschet is part of the new “Die traitor” relay. In the interview, he reveals what father Armin Laschet says about his TV job.

On April 29, the third season of “Die traitor – trust nobody!” (always on Tuesdays, 8:15 p.m. at RTL, too). At the beginning, 16 celebrities will face the game for truth and deception. The traiters determined in episode one of Sonja Zietlow (56) must prove themselves in the group of loyal and do not let their camouflage open. In the end, a prize money of up to 50,000 euros. In the player field: fashion influencer Joe Laschet (36). “When the request came, I was very happy,” says Armin Laschet’s son (64) about his first TV engagement in an interview with Spot on News. “I saw the first season and it really tied me up. Of course I wanted to participate directly.” And how did his environment react to his participation?

“My parents did not know the format, but they found it super exciting and my mother then looked into the first season. Of course, they are very much looking forward to being broadcast and then seeing what I did for the first time,” says Laschet. His fiancee was also totally happy “because she is a big fan of this format. I think she would have liked to take part”.

Joe Laschet: “Can’t adjust me well”

Laschet was immediately clear what role he would like to take on in the game. “I really wanted to be more loyal. I can’t adjust myself well and can’t lie well,” explains the author. “And if I do that, you can see it very quickly. Before the show, I also had the ambition to find the traitors as a possible loyaler.” The first encounter with the other players, including the “Let’s Dance” Jurors Motsi Mabuse (44), Joachim Llambi (60) and Jorge González (57), actor Wayne Carpendale (48) or moderator Jan Hofer (75), was very nice. “I didn’t know many, most of them didn’t, but of course they knew the last name,” Laschet looks back. “You asked interested. From the beginning, they made it easy for me to take part in the format.” He knew Jan Hofer personally before the show. “He wrote an article about the tie for my book. I was very happy to see again and I was relieved to see a well-known face. But regardless of this, you quickly got into conversation with the others and also liked to meet.” When he appeared on the show, Laschet was faithful as an influencer for classic men’s fashion (over 100,000 Instagram followers). “I actually always put on what I put on when I am on the road or leave the house. I don’t disguise myself. For many, that was completely normal for many that I was tie and suit in the evening.” Could one of the celebrities keep up with him? “Jan Hofer and Llambi are always well dressed when they wear a suit. In the evening, all of them always really dressed up and I thought that was very nice.” There were almost no disagreements among the celebrities, “and I think that was also the charm and the great thing about the whole cast that there were so different people, with different characters, professional backgrounds and age groups. Just a super exciting mix and the game was even more fun”.

Joe Laschet: This is a “exposed moment” at “Die traitor”

However, the intensity on the round table was surprising for him. “If you then sit down and discuss who is selected, that’s really a very blatant, a very releasing moment,” says Laschet. “You have to be prepared for everything. Either you are suspected and selected out or you have to suspect and select someone. That was a challenge.” The castle backdrop, including the evening fire skirts, would have brought the whole thing to a “different level of tension. So the setting is very important and is very successful”. The challenges that the celebrities have to do, “the whole show opened. These were always the relaxed moments when I am honest,” Laschet continues. “In addition to all the suspicions, distrust and forging alliances, it was a nice change to get out.” And what about his experience with “Die traitor” with other TV appearances? “I am always open to everything if something comes, then I look at it and if it suits me, I would also participate again. But there is currently nothing to be done.” This year there is always a private highlight in the calendar. “We are getting married in my hometown in Aachen in October, it will be a big wedding and of course there is also a certain dress code,” says the future groom. “During the church, suit or cut is worn during the church and a tuxedo in the evening. The anticipation is very great. The preparations are all completed. Now we are only waiting for it to start.”
