She didn’t grew up with her father
Her family knew that her father would die, but she wonders: “Is that an excuse for not feeling anything? Because you know that someone will go? And you have already said goodbye to him?” It was only in the further course of the conversation that the former actress, who announced her retreat from the film industry in 2023, explained that she did not grew up with her father: “He and my mother separated when I was five months old, but he has always been in my life since then.”
She says that her father “was not part of her lessons in life”, but that thanks to him she won two “beautiful siblings and an amazing stepmother”. Applegate was the only child of Robert Applegate and Nancy Priddy (84).
