Ellen Pompeo with star on the Walk of Fame: “Grey’s Anatomy” star celebrates with the family

A very special day for Ellen Pompeo (55): The actress who has been Dr. Meredith Gray shaped the successful series “Grey’s Anatomy”, was honored on Tuesday with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. In addition to her husband Chris Ivery (57), she also accompanied two of her three children to this milestone of her career – a rare common public appearance. Pompeo also cheered some of her long -time serial colleagues during the ceremony.

The actress was beaming between her two children: daughter Stella (15) and son Eli (8). While the teenager appeared in a blue and white polka-dot dress with white paragraphs and a suitable clutch, her little brother wore a naval blade suit with a white t-shirt. Husband Chris Ivery completed the family picture in a combination of gray trousers, a suitable vest and white shirt. Pompeo himself wore a long-sleeved peach-colored top with turtleneck and a printed skirt with mermaid silhouette.

“Says all Sienna because she is not there!” Pompeo, smiling, asked everyone present during the photo shoot – a loving reference to her ten -year -old daughter who was missing. The actress, who has been married to music producer Ivery since 2007, usually protects her family from public attention.

With her acceptance speech, Pompeo left no doubt as to how much her family means: “It doesn’t happen overnight and it doesn’t just happen. It takes an entire village. I love you, Stella. I love you, Eli.” She also thanked “Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes (55), who gave a speech at the ceremony. “Shonda enabled me to have a career, to be paid and be a mother,” said Pompeo and added that this was not a matter of course in her industry.

Since 2005, Ellen Pompeo has embodied the doctor Meredith Gray in the cult series “Grey’s Anatomy”. Despite her farewell in season 19, she is still the heart of the series and repeatedly returns to the Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital in guest appearances. The 21st season in Germany can currently be seen on Disney+.

In addition to series creator Shonda Rhimes, “Grey’s Anatomy” stars like Debbie Allen, James Pickens Jr. and Scott Speedman were also on site. In addition, Christina Hendricks and Sarayu Blue, who can be seen in addition to Pompeo in their current new series “Good American Family”, showed their support.
