Paul McCartney: Honest insights into his marriage

“We are like any other normal couple!” Says Paul McCartney (82) about his married life. For a blog post entitled “You Gave Me The Answer” by the ex-Beatles, the cult musician answered the personal question of a Facebook user named Joan, how he and Nancy Shvell (65) spend everyday life.

“I am curious: If only you and Nancy are at home and have a break of all your responsibilities and obligations, what do you do to relax? What are your common interests?” He quoted the questioner.

His answer amazes: “We talk and exchange ideas. We eat for lunch or dinner. Well, actually every meal, because we like to cook.” In addition, he and his wife, whom he met in 2007 and married four years later, would sometimes watch them together. “And I always read before going to bed, mostly a biography, while Nancy ends a series. We are pretty much like any other normal couple!”

Just like the average husband after 14 years of marriage, however, the singer does not behave when he tells as in 2023 that he likes to “exaggerate” it with Valentine’s Day. “There is not only a card, but everywhere in the room hidden cards, and sometimes it goes on until the next day – it’s totally silly,” revealed the cult singer, who last went on tour in 2024, in another post on his website.

The father of five children (from previous relationships) also gave an insight into the type of flagship husband that he would like to be for Shevell. “I try to be helpful as a husband. If there is a problem, I like to be the one who gives her some strength,” explains the Briton, who has already married two times before Nancy Shvell. “I am always very happy to be the person to whom Nancy rely on. And to be her strength when she gets through difficult times.”
