Singer Sheryl Crow has publicly faced Elon Musk. In response to this, a man entered her property in Tennessee.
Sheryl Crow (62) was attacked because of her public criticism of Tech-Millionär Elon Musk (53). In an interview with the musician reports on an incident that occurred on her property in Tennessee. After making her public in February that she sold her Tesla vehicle in protest against Musk, an armed man penetrated her property.
“There was a moment when I was really afraid: an armed man came to my property, into my barn,” she says. “It doesn’t feel safe if you are dealing with people who are so committed.”
Hard reactions to political statement
Crow caused a sensation in February when she shared her Tesla. “My parents always said … you are who you surround yourself with,” she wrote in the caption at the time and subordinated the clip with “Time to Say Goodbye”. “There is a time when you have to decide who you want to ally with. Goodbye, Tesla.”
It was also said that she donated the money from the sale to public broadcast NPR and directly criticized the Tesla founder with the hashtags #Presidentmusk and #PresidentTrump. Elon Musk has headed the controversial “Department of Government Efficiency” (Doge), which is responsible for massive cuts in government expenditure in January. Under the article there was a lot of encouragement for the decision- but also violent criticism of nutmeg and Trump sympathizers.
“This incident feels different”
The reactions to Sheryl Crows Statement were apparently much more violent than with earlier political statements by the musician, who has repeatedly positioned herself publicly on social issues since the beginning of her career. “It feels different,” she explains. “When I spoke out against weapons sales at Walmart in 1996, not everyone was armed – and I certainly didn’t live in Tennessee where everyone is armed.” She describes her adopted home Tennessee, which is shaped Republican as a “difficult place”.
Despite the threatening experience, the singer does not regret her protest and would post the video again at any time. “I can’t help it,” she says to the magazine. “I feel that I fight for my children. That’s how I grew up.”
