George Clooney: Actor nominated for a Tony Award

George Clooney (63) could soon be a prize: The Hollywood star is nominated for the Tony Awards 2025 “Best main actor in a play”. This Thursday, all candidates for the theater and musical prize. For the award, all plays and musicals can be nominated that were played at a Broadwaytheater during the year. Some well -known names from the entertainment industry are represented in addition to Clooney among the nominees, but other Hollywood names are missing.

Clooney is up to date and until the beginning of June Garden Theater in the play “Good Night, and Good Luck”. Based on the 2005 film of the same name, Clooney plays the role of CBS journalist Edward R. Murrows (1908-1965) in this historical drama.

“Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk (62) has been nominated for a “special supporting role” in the play “Glengarry Glen Ross”. Actress Mia Farrow (80) was honored with nomination as the “best leading actress in a play” for her performance in “The Roommate”. Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger (46) is currently celebrated on all sides for her Broadway engagement. She has been seen in the musical “Sunset Boulevard” in New York since September 2024, her piece runs until July 2025. With the Tony Awards, she can look forward to a nomination in the “Best leading actress in a musical” category.

The Broadway is currently teeming with big stars who are honored in musicals and plays. But Hollywood names such as Denzel Washington, Jake Gyllenhaal, Nick Jonas, Jim Parsons, Idina Menzel and Kit Connor are missing from the Tony nominations.

The awarding of the Tony Awards will take place on June 8th in the Radio City Music Hall and will be broadcast on CBS. Cynthia Erivo (38) takes over the moderation.
