With “I Kissed a Girl” the singer Jill Sobule made it into the charts in the 90s. The 66-year-old died in a fire.
The singer Jill Sobule died at the age of 66. Several media report this and rely on management. Sobule died in a house fire on Thursday morning (local time), her spokesman told the “Variety” portal.
Several media quoted from a statement of management. It says: “Jill Sobule was a nature violence and a advocate of human rights whose music has been woven into our culture.”
Sobule was known for the song “I Kissed a Girl” from 1995. According to the “Rolling Stone” it was the first open lesbian song to make it into the top 20 of the Billboard’s-Modern Rock Charts. Also in the 90s she was the song “Supermodel” as a soundtrack for the film “Cluess – what else!” successful. She published several albums and EPS.
