“Asterix & Obelix: The fight of the chiefs” (Netflix)
In 1959 René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo released their first comic adventure from Asterix and Obelix, first it was a comic series, two years later their first album appeared: “Asterix the Gallier”. Since then, the stories have been considered a cult in which the curious inhabitants of a Gallic village resist the Roman occupation around 50 BC, with a potion, strength and cleverness. Before the 41st comic band appears in October, after numerous previous films, Netflix has now also dared to adventure with the series “The fight of the chiefs”.
The 3-D animation of the French filmmakers Alain Chabat and Fabrice Joubert is based on the history of the same name from 1966. Many loved ones are there, such as the super strong Obelix, who absolutely wants to get a potion. Achhnix with its stinking fish. And of course the legendary sentence: “The spiders, the Romans”. Chabat and Joubert staged with respect for the literary template and carefully raise the comics into modern times, adapted to today’s visual habits, fast -paced, colorful and with many familiar gags. A happy pleasure that may also encourage the offspring to sink into the comic books.
The ZDF brings dead to life with the help of artificial intelligence. At the documentary series “DeepfaK Diaries”, actresses are transformed in celebrities of past times. From their point of view, they tell the historical events surrounding them, supplemented with historical material. The five episodes in ZDF portray the former Chancellor Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898), the socialist Rosa Luxembourg (1871-1919), the Hitler assassin Johann Georg Elser (1903-1945), the student leader Rudi Dutschke (1940-1979) and the industrial Oskar Schindler (1908-1974), who saved more than 1,000 Jews from death.
