Sean Penn believes that Donald Trump “could try to destroy the world”

The actor was recently interviewed by Jim Acosta’s Podcast to promote his new film Words of Warwhen the issue of the president of El Salvador arose, Nayib Bukelewho has described himself as the “most great dictator in the world”, which led to a discussion about whether Trump will try to remain in the White House beyond the limit of his mandate.

Penn told the presenter that “We should consider the worst possible scenarios” and that Trump “could try to destroy the world before reaching his adulthood.”

“I think it is a reasonable theory that Donald Trump is no different from someone who abandons him, perhaps for another, and then murders his ex -partner because if he can’t have it, nobody can,” said Penn. “I think that Donald Trump and his solipsism could have that relationship with the world and that this destruction is partly a game of power, and also the literal intention of his final exit.”

Congressman Eric Swalwell, executive producer of Words of War and also invited to the podcast, said: “What worries me is that if he does not believe there is someone who can protect it, we will see him increase what he is willing to do to the country to protect himself.”

He continued: “Our only hope is a congress that controls it, a press that reports in this regard, an independent court that dictates a sentence and a full place of Americans who say ‘not to mention!'”

Donald Trump and tariffs on films made outside the US

This occurs in the middle of a chaotic era for the United States, where Trump’s tariff plans have had a significant impact on the entertainment industry. In February, he signed an executive order to impose tariffs on imports from several countries, but due to criticism, he postponed most of them.

Yesterday (May 4), he announced that he will authorize 100 % tariffs on films made from the United States. Specific details have not yet been published about their 100 %tariff plans, and it is unknown if this will only apply to foreign films or if it will include American productions partially filmed abroad.
