ARD series “in all friendship” extended by 2027
The series classic “in all friendship” continues – but with a shortened scope. For the time being, everything remains as usual for spectators, but savings must be made behind the scenes.
The ARD permanent burner “in all friendship” should continue until August 2027. As the Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk announced, the doctor series will go to seasons 29 and 30. The MDR will produce the hospital format together with the ARD subsidiary Degeto. A total of 78 new episodes are to be created, 39 per season. So far, the seasons have included 42 episodes.
The MDR cited economic framework and rising costs in the media industry as the reason for the cut. The broadcaster must save around 160 million euros in the contribution period from 2025 to 2028. The production of the two new seasons is subject to further committees within the ARD.
“In all friendship” has been running in the first and is one of the most successful weekly series on German television. The series plays in a fictional hospital in Leipzig.
