The photographer Marianne zu Sayn-Wittgenstein died at the age of 105. The family confirmed that star. The Austrian had made a name for herself as a celebrity and jet set photographer since the 1960s. Audrey Hepburn, Leonard Bernstein, Plácido Domingo or Sean Connery stood in front of her camera. At the time, she got her nickname “Mamarazza” from Caroline von Monaco, based on the term “paparazzo”. Her most famous picture shows her own children on the yacht of the shipowner Aristotle Onassis.

Sayn-Wittgenstein was considered one of the last personalities of the European jet set. Prince Charles, Gunter Sachs, Andy Warhol, Karl Lagerfeld or Maria Callas came to their parties. The artist called “Manni” was a direct great -granddaughter of Empress Maria Theresia. Her daughter -in -law is the well -known actress Sunnyi Melles.
