On April 9, Lehfeldt and Lindner announced the birth of their first child together on social media. “We are overjoyed and feel great gratitude that we are now a family,” wrote the new parents to a black and white photo that shows the baby’s hands.

She had already announced that the 35-year-old would quickly return to professional life after birth. “When are you in maternity leave? – not at all,” she clarified on Instagram in January.

Before the birth, Christian Lindner emphasized in several interviews that he and Franca Lehfeldt wanted to take care of their child on an equal footing. “We have planned, we both do this in partnership, 50/50, everyone makes their share,” said the politician in the WDR newspodcast “0630”. His wife, who had become self -employed in 2023 with her consulting company “Lehfeldt & Team”, will continue to “work full -time” after birth.
