Charles and Camilla have unveiled two new paintings that were commissioned two years ago after their crowning glory.
King Charles (76) and Queen Camilla (77) celebrate the second anniversary of their coronation with new portraits. Just in time for the anniversary on May 6th, they unveiled the pictures in London. In a short clip you can see how the royal couple frees the paintings from their covers with applause.
The article states: “On the second anniversary of the crowning glory of her majesties, two coronation portraits of King Charles III and Queen Camilla were unveiled in the Central Hall of the National Gallery.” The portraits that will be part of the Royal Collection were therefore painted by two different artists who personally selected the king and the queen. The king was painted by Peter Kuhfeld (73), the queen of Paul S. Benney (65). Both painters have previously worked for the royal couple, it continues.
Royal fans can admire the new portraits in the National Gallery, whose patron is the king. Then they will move permanently into the throne hall of the Buckingham Palace, where they can be viewed between July 10 and September 28, 2025.

The portrait of the monarch shows the Imperial State Crown – the crown lies on a table next to Charles. He wears his state robe on the painting, which he was wearing at the beginning of the coronation service, as well as a marine uniform with medals and orders.
Her crown next to her is also on the portrait of the queen. Camilla wears her coronation dress, which was designed by Bruce Oldfield (74). It is made of ivory-colored silk and is embroidered with silver and gold-colored flower patterns. All six sessions of the queen for the painting took place in Clarence House.
