He Provincial Museum of Photography Palacio Dionisi of Cordova becomes the stage of “Water”Sample of the renowned Spanish photographer Isabel Muñozone of the most outstanding voices of contemporary photography internationally.

This is the First time that Muñoz’s work is exhibited in the Mediterráena provincewithin the framework of an itinerance that has already passed through important cities such as Madrid, Mexico City and Rome. The exhibition opens its doors to the July 27.

The sample, cured under an artistic and social perspective, invites you to reflect on the essential connection between human being and water, in a global context of water crisis and environmental emergency.

Through portraits, symbolic compositions and underwater images, the artist creates a visual story that combines beauty and crudeness, highlighting the dignity of those who face the effects of climate change.

This exploration materializes in large -format -printed works. About them, Lucía Álvarez PérezDeputy Director of the Museum, comments: “They invite us to immerse ourselves, through subtle oceanic images, in reflections that generate, from our humanity, a careful and affectionate change about those essential natural elements for our existence. The sample of Isabel Muñoz allows to inhabit the uninhabitable and spatially locate in that impossibility.”

The Dionisi Palace: An emblematic space for photography

Located in the heart of the Nueva Córdoba neighborhood, the Provincial Museum of Photography Palacio Dionisi It occupies one of the most unique constructions of the city. This Palace, of architectural typology known as Petit Hôtel was built between 1920 and 1924 by the architect Miguel Arrambide according to the Parisian models taken from the French architecture of that time. It has a great architectural value, with great quality details and endings imported from Europe in the late nineteenth century.

Its original owner was Juan Kegelera German immigrant who owned one of the most important hardware stores in the city of Córdoba at that time. With the passage of time, Margarita, one of Kegeler’s daughters, was finally in charge of the residence and married the doctor Humberto Dionisi. For its recognition in the field of health, this residence acquires its last name as its denomination.

In 2014, after a process of restoration and value, the space was reopened as a public museum. Since then, he has established himself as The first province museum dedicated exclusively to photographyhosting a collection of more than 1,500 works of Argentine authors and authors, and presenting temporary samples of national and international artists.

The palace has Twelve exhibition rooms distributed in two floorswhich retain the original style of the house and offer a unique environment for dialogue between contemporary art and the history of the place.
