Ryan Reynolds also chatted about his children in Hamburg-and reacted cool to two incidents when he appeared.

If you want to know what the OMR, the digital and marketing fair in Hamburg, only has to observe an incident when Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds appear. He is chatting about his entrepreneurial actions on the largest stage of the festival with OMR boss Philipp Westermeyer and moderator Steven Gätjen when a sign catches the eye.

“You have been holding it up for so long that I should try this toothpick with taste, give here!”, He calls the crowd. He promptly gets a red toothpick from a young man who films on the cell phone, how Reynolds tests the part. The start-up founder has just made a Hollywood star clear for his advertising purposes.

The whole thing was celebrated by the audience – after all, it is moments like this that again attracted 70,000 visitors to the OMR this year. Reynolds is this year’s star guest, last year Kim Kardashian was jet to Hamburg. She is said to have collected 700,000 euros for her appearance at the time, which Reynolds receives, is not known.

Ryan Reynolds brings Hollywood charm

But it doesn’t really matter, because the actor delivers and effortlessly snaps out the German moderation all-purpose weapon Kai Pflaume. He had received Reynolds on stage and then asked the interviewers Steven Gätjen and Philipp Westermeyer somewhat anti -climatically. “And I actually thought it was going well,” jokes Reynolds. This is exactly how it goes on: a little faster, a little funnier, a little more Hollywood the Canadian always stays on stage for just under an hour.

Gätjen also fades next to him, the most likely OMR boss Philipp Westermeyer, who approaches Reynold’s buddy to entrepreneur to entrepreneur. Reynolds says a lot without really saying anything. He hardly spoke a word about his wife, the actress Blake Lively, who has just been a legal dispute with her former co-star and director Justin Baldoni and has raised serious allegations. Just when asked whether he would buy a football club again – the actor has a club in Wales – he jokes: “Oh, no. I would like to stay married.”

A few small, short private insights allows Reynolds. So suddenly his cell phone rings – one of his daughters calls. She greets Germany and Reynolds says that she has just lost a tooth. A collective “AWWW” goes through the audience. “It’s great, hear, you get applause,” says Reynolds, praising before he puts on with a dad joke: “Now I’m going through a tunnel, sorry, darling!”

And when it comes to another topic, he comes to his children. Although many of his entrepreneurial projects benefit from the posts on social media, he has a split attitude to Instagram, Tiktok and Co. “I’m worried about children. I have three daughters. I am worried about problems with the body image and things you see.” The biggest problem is that social media projected perfection. “Perfection is a damn disease. People are afraid of failing that they don’t try anything.” And then he says a sentence that falls on the OMR every year or something like that: “You have to be ready to fail to be good.”

The young man from the toothpick company obviously took this to heart. “Next year he will sell the thing for a few million,” commented Reynolds only half in a joke.
