Nemo soon had an “interview overdose” after the ESC triumph last year. The Swiss Success Act has advice for everyone who gains this song competition: “Say a lot no.”
After the victory at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), Nemo had to cope with the huge interest of the public. “In the days before and after the ESC I gave 300 interviews,” said Nemo (25) of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. “I gave so many interviews that my biggest wish was to simply not have to give an interview anymore. I had an interview overdose, so to speak.”
The label also put pressure on. “One then said:” You know what it is – the person who wins is distributed on the market like a sow! “I heard it and thought: that’s exactly how it was! But the pure truth.”
“Above all, that means saying a lot no”
Nemo’s tip to the person who wins the big music show ESC this year: “Make a promo for a month or two and get out of everything that is possible during this time – but then focus on making new music again. That means above all to say a lot.”
Nemo won the ESC in Malmö for Switzerland in Swedish in 2024. The non-binary person, who does not define themselves as a man or as a woman, addresses his own experiences in the song. The ESC 2025 in Basel is due to Nemo’s victory. The grand finale is on May 17th.
