Music fans are looking forward to the Eurovision Song Contest – for commentator Thorsten Schorn, however, there is another happy event on the corresponding weekend. At least he hopes.
The German ESC commentator Thorsten Schorn wants to leave again early after the Eurovision Song Contest on May 17th in Switzerland. The reason is his passion for football, as he said to the German Press Agency.
“I plan to take the train back to Cologne quite early the next day after the ESC final. “Of course, as a season ticket, I don’t want to miss that.”
The 1. FC Köln is currently fighting for the return to the Bundesliga. At the moment, the club, which is also often called “Effzeh” by fans, ranks second in second place in the 2nd Bundesliga, which would be enough for the ascent. However, the performance was quite mau recently, which is why coach Gerhard Struber was replaced by Friedhelm Funkel.
It could be a luxury problem
In his last home game of the season, FC Köln will play against 1. FC Kaiserslautern on May 18 at 3:30 p.m. The evening before, the final of the Eurovision Song Contest rises in Basel, in which Germany hopes for a good placement with the sibling duo Abor & Tynna. Moderator Stefan Raab, who played a key role in the duo, issued victory as the goal.
In the best case, Thorsten Schorn could experience two celebrations within a few hours. He seems to have thought about this option. “If Stefan Raab, who is also a confessing FC fan, wants to throw a party to win an ESC victory, this schedule is a real luxury problem,” he said.
