Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani: His “key to happiness” is simple

After around ten years together with Gwen Stefani (55), Country singer Blake Shelton (48) reveals the couple’s happiness secret. In an interview on his new album “For Recreanational Use Only”, he also talks about everyday life with the former no-doubt front woman.

This year the couple celebrates their tenth anniversary. “It really feels like the time is going by,” says Shelton. “With some things we talk about, we have reached a point in our relationship at which it says: ‘Oh, you remember …’ And you can tell: ‘Oh my god, that was eight years ago!'” The relationship would still feel new for him. And this is also the “key to luck that it feels just as exciting and new and happy” as in the beginning.

Your common passion is certainly helpful. With his wife, which he married in 2021, he recorded a new duet for his current album. Even two songs have become, but only a track made it onto the album. “We were both so enthusiastic about both that we held one of them for the next project,” he announced. The common song “Hangin ‘on” was “definitely a challenge”, but he and Stefani “love to ask us as a singer”.

He says about the process of creating: “We live together, so we walk through the house and sing these songs all the time, and we have months to talk about it.” If you then come to the recording studio, be very well prepared.

But when it comes to writing lyrics, they are very different. “Gwen is much more peppers when it comes to a lyrics. I have never been as picky as you. For her it is really important to see herself in the text she sings in contrast to me. I sang about going to prison and there was never a debate about it,” jokes the 48-year-old.

The work on the current record is over after the promo tour. Then a quiet summer with Gwen Stefani and her sons Kingston (18), Zuma (16), and Apollo (11) from their first marriage to Gavin Rossdale (59): “I look forward to the fact that the children don’t have to go to school. Gwen and I have pretty much everything we wish in summer. he reveals. “We have no plans for what our favorite plan is.”
