Speculation about Lively’s role in the process had already increased at the Time100 Gala at the end of April. Before she revealed on stage that her mother had survived an attack by a “friend of the work she wanted to take her life” before Lively birth, the actress alluded to the case and said that there was “so much to say about the last two years of my life”.

It remains uncertain whether Ryan Reynolds (48), Lively’s husband, will also testify. He is currently mentioned as a defendant in Baldoni’s counterclaim, but Lively’s team is trying to dismiss these claims. “Our conviction is that they are unfounded,” said Gottlieb, adding that Reynolds could “or may not be a witness”.

Baldoni’s team had announced in the past few months to want to recharge large stars like Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman. Gottlieb considers this unnecessary: ​​”It is completely unclear what relevance these celebrities have in the event. Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman rejected Gottlieb’s claims and accused Lively of wanting to distract from the facts of the case. “Although it is obviously uncomfortable for the Lively side, the truth is not a distraction. The truth was clearly shown by unprocessed evidence, documents and real recordings,” said Freedman.

The case goes back to filming the film “It Ends With Us” in 2024, which came to cinemas in August. In December, LIVELY filed a complaint with the California authority for civil rights, followed by a lawsuit for sexual harassment and an alleged dirt campaign against her. The lawsuit was directed against Wayfarer Studios and several people associated with production.

Baldoni denied the allegations and submitted a $ 400-million counter-action in which he accused Lively, Reynolds, Lively’s press spokeswoman Leslie Sloane and her company Vision PR of the defamation and civil extortion-allegations that Lively’s lawyers described as “unfounded”.

The process is scheduled to begin in March 2026.
