The Colón Theater Academic Orchestra in collaboration with the DESA group last Tuesday a solidarity concert destined to support the BAHÍA BLANCA SCHOOL ORCHESTRA – engineer White That, thanks to the collection of the evening, you can acquire the materials that were lost during the storm that affected that region of the province of Buenos Aires.
Under the direction of the teacher Juan Miceli And with a full room, the Columbus Orchestra presented pieces of Felix Mendelssohn and Robert Schumannin a concert that will remain in the memory of teachers, boys, girls and adolescents who attend the school orchestra and that can guarantee the continuity of pedagogical and musical work that they had been doing before floods.
The show “To make music come back”, Which could also continue live on the YouTube channel of the Teatro Colón, was attended by the leading violinist Xavier Inchausti as a soloist, and the renowned Bahia artist Agustín “Rada” Aristaránwho joined as host.
Inchausti was born and grew up in Bahía Blanca, one of the cities most affected by the storm and where relatives and friends of the violinist live. Through his music, he found the language to collaborate with those who suffered material and emotional losses and could do it at the Colón Theater, where he is currently working.
“Rada” is also a bahiense and fulfilled a fundamental role from its commitment to social cause. “For me it is an immense honor, as an artist and as a bahiense, that we are together in this impressive room, so that music saves music,” he said during his presentation and announced that thanks to the collaboration of all present and the work done by DES, “what was already necessary to buy all the instruments was achieved.”
In addition, he announced that the entire White engineer will receive the elements and that students and teachers will travel to the city of Buenos Aires to make their own presentation at the Teatro Colón.

The school orchestra was founded in 2008 at the port of engineer White, promoted by teachers, students and families of the community. Since its inception, it has been a pedagogical and territorial space that promotes inclusioncitizenship and roots through musical practice, strengthening girls, boys and adolescents in their integral development.
According to stories of the current coordinator of the School Orchestra, Alejandra Hall, the water broke instruments, swelled the wood and oxidized the strings of the elements they had to teach, even some they had acquired when it was just founded. The recovery of its instruments is essential, since it represents much more than the restitution of objects: it is the restoration of an essential tool for expression, learning and social encounter.
The solidarity event had the support of DESC (Energy Distributor SA), which brings together the main electrical distributors of Buenos Aires and Salta: Edes, Edea, Eden, Edelap and Edesa.
