Pope election messes up from “Emily in Paris”

The continuation of the Netflix series is currently being shot in Rome – but because of the new Pope Leo XIV. One of the actresses doesn’t like that.

According to media reports, the choice of Pope Leo XIV has messed up the filming for the continuation of the Netflix series “Emily in Paris”. Due to the enormous crowds that flocked to St. Peter’s Square to proclaim the new church, the shoot was demolished, as the newspaper “IL Messaggero” reported. The fifth season of “Emily in Paris”, which is actually located in the French capital, plays in Rome at times.

After the white smoke from the Sistine Chapel, which signaled the choice of the new Pontifex, tens of thousands of people had rushed into the Vatican on Thursday evening to see the Pope’s first appearance. According to “IL Messaggero”, noise and chaos forced to demolish. Emily actress Lily Collins had to turn several scenes again “because the noise was crazy”. Other actors such as Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (as Sylvie Grateau) and Ashley Park (Mindy Chen) had also suffered.

Park also mocked it in an internet video. In it, the 33-year-old American complains to the cameras: “It is my first day of shooting in Rome and you have just chosen the Pope. Is that anyone interested?” An ironic “fantastic” can be heard from her area. Everyone laughs. Park repeated: “Fantastic, the Pope. We are in a caravan so that you don’t notice that we are in Rome. But we are here and heard the church bells ringing!” Then she had to be held in comments to miss it in respect.

According to Netflix, the fifth season of “Emily in Paris” will probably be shown at the end of the year. After Rome, the filming goes back to Paris.
