Aminata Touré overjoyed: Greens Minister shares the first baby photo

Already yesterday the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Social Affairs confirmed that Minister of Social Affairs Aminatata Touré became a mother from the Greens at the end of April. Now the 32-year-old himself shared a photo of her newborn child for the first time. “What lucky that I can be your mom,” she wrote about a picture that she happily shows in the hospital with her child in her arms happily in the camera.

Touré has been a minister of social affairs, youth, family, senior citizens, integration and equality in Schleswig-Holstein since 2022, and since August last year also deputy prime minister in the northernmost German state. The new mother immediately received a lot of congratulations from politics for her post. Former Greens chairwoman Ricarda Lang (31) commented on the picture, for example with the words: “So so beautiful”, while the Greens Member of the Bundestag, Ulle Schauws (59), wrote: “Congratulations from your heart and welcome to the new earth child.”

Her pregnancy announced Touré in November 2024. “I know a lot is happening in the world – in my very personal one too, because I’m pregnant,” she wrote at the time.

At the beginning of March, Touré “went to maternity protection on medical advice” ,. The handover of her tasks as a minister to two State Secretaries was “intensively prepared”, as she explained. “I know the ministry and the topics in the best hands. The compatibility of family and work must be feasible in all professional groups and also in top offices for women. I hope to be able to make a contribution to it through my political work and personally,” said Touré back then.
