Rapper Xatar died at the age of only 43. Hip-hop greats like Shirin David express their grief on social media.
The German music and hip-hop world is in shock after the much too early death of Rapper Xatar (1981-2025). The artist and entrepreneur, who was called Gewar Hajabi with a bourgeois name, was found dead in a Cologne apartment on Thursday evening, such as the Cologne public prosecutor. He was 43 years old.
Shirin David is reminiscent of the deceased

Xatar had an eventful life that was filmed after the autobiographical novel “Alles or Nix” by the rapper in Fatih Akins (51) film “Rheingold”. In addition to his own music career, he had run several of his own labels and founded his own shisha bar and a snack bar as an entrepreneur.
Xatar also gained national fame through his criminal energies: in 2009 he attacked a gold transporter with three accomplices dressed as police officers and tax investigators and fled into Iraq. After his arrest and deportation to Germany, he was sentenced to eight years in prison, of which he was for about five years.
