At the age of 37, Melanie Hamrick is much younger than her 81-year-old fiance Mick Jagger. But criticism of this cannot harm her.
Melanie Hamrick (37) takes the considerable age difference to her fiance Mick Jagger (81) with humor. At the New York City Ballet Spring Gala 2025, the former ballerina surprised with a quick answer to the question of the 44-year age difference to the Rolling-Stones front man. “He is younger than me,” joked Hamrick, adding with a laugh: “He is incredible, really.”
Has been engaged for several years
The couple’s unequal relationship always calls critics due to the enormous age difference. In the meantime, however, the two have been lined up for eleven years: the two got to know each other in 2014 when the Rolling Stones were on tour with the American Ballet Theater. Last month, Hamrick also confirmed what many fans already suspected: she has been “engaged for two or three years”, but there are no concrete marriage plans.
In an interview at the gala, Hamrick also spoke about the eight -year -old son Deveraux, called “Devi”, who was born in 2016. The boy seems to have inherited his parents’ dance passion. “It is amazing. It is natural. It is in its genes. He just moves,” enthused the dancer. Even before her son had ever seen a concert of his famous father, he had already had the rhythm in his blood.
For the 81-year-old Jagger, Devi is the eighth child, the first for his fiance.
