With over 50 abseiling from a steep wall or even whiz along a rope slide? No problem for Queen Máxima!
Queen Máxima (53) shows full commitment and proves how fit she is in a military visit. Together with civilian medical staff, the wife of King Willem-Alexander (58) actively took part in a demanding training unit.
This is an eight -week officer course for medical staff who can pave the way to a career as a reservist or professional soldier. The training includes military foundations, insights into the armed forces, personal development – and also shooting training and groundbreaking interludes are part of the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
Máxima in height

Sometimes she looks concentrated, sometimes she laughs – and she was also held in action: for example, when abseiling from a rock or in ziplining, where she slips along a rope at a lofty height.
Militarily trained health specialists
In the course of the royal guest of honor, the Ministry of Defense pointed out that good medical care for soldiers is important, especially in use. This has been achieved by cooperation with civilian hospitals for 25 years. The militarily trained health specialists therefore work in 14 civilian hospitals in the Netherlands and are also available to defense abroad for several months.
