Nadja Abd El Farrag became famous as “Naddel”. Now there is sad news about the former moderator and ex-girlfriend of Dieter Bohlen. Weg companions are dismayed.
For her biography she chose the title “Achterbahn” – and that’s exactly how the life of Nadja “Naddel” Abd el Farrag was: an eternal up and down. On May 9, the former moderator died in a clinic in Hamburg after DPA information at the age of 60. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported. Abd El Farrag became known in the 1990s as a friend of pop star and music producer Dieter Bohlen.
On social media, numerous celebrities reacted dismayed about the death of the singer and moderator. Dieter Bohlen posted a video of a joint appearance on Instagram and wrote: “I am very sad. Quiet in peace, Nadja.” In the 1990s she sang in Bohlen’s band project Blue System as a background singer and later had appearances in Mallorca. In May 2024, Nadja Abd El Farrag was a guest at the 26th Hamburg Schlagermove as a singer – that was probably her last public appearance.
Private life was up and down
The moderator’s private life was an up and down. In recent years, she spoke about shortage of money and her health problems due to too much alcohol. In her biography, she made public in 2018 that she was suffering from cirrhosis of the liver.
In her book by El Farrag: “I only took the advice of the doctor half -heartedly, reduced my consumption to one or two glasses of wine per week and was convinced that there was no damage to these small quantities. But apparently the liver, which was still too much for my stressed, showed the latest values.”
Everything had started so nicely: Bohlen made it famous, followed by commercials, TV series and recordings in the “Playboy”. In their time alongside Bohlen, even rumors of a wedding made the round. But in 2001 the couple separated. Later ABD EL Farrag was the new one alongside the composer and hit producer Ralph Siegel. It was “love on the twentieth look”, they announced happily. But the relationship didn’t last long. After four months it was over.
“Peep” and “Jungle Camp”
“Naddel” moderated the TV erotic show “Peep”. She also took part in the RTL jungle camp in 2004 and also spent a few nights in the “Big Brother” container. In 2001 she published a cookbook.
There have been more and more negative headlines in recent years. There was talk of alcohol problems and debts, attempts to come on TV or as a singer. Due to money problems, Abd El Farrag was guests twice in the RTL series “Out of the debt” with debt consultant Peter Zwegat.
Comeback attempts on TV or as a singer failed
Entertainer Andreas Ellermann had tried to support her in a stage comeback. “I suffered the news that Nadja died and I am deeply sad,” wrote Ellermann on Instagram. “It has not been possible for a year that we could make appearances.”
Ellermann announced that he would like to pay for her burial: “If the family wants it, I will pay the costs for the burial. I have already spoken to the mother and offered her help,” he told the “picture”.
The entertainer Julian FM Stoeckel wrote on Instagram: “How well do we actually know each other at the show business?! I always met Naddel at events, we met at parties. We have met a lot of friends together, drank, laughed and said goodbye again. What really happened in her how she felt in her, neither I could really measure others …”
