Colorful start of this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The jury around President Juliette Binoche relied on striking looks.
This year’s edition of Cannes International Film Festival begins on May 13th. Traditionally, not only the stars of the competition films cause a stir. The star -picked jury, which decides on the awarding of the Golden Palm, is also impressive year after year. So also in 2025: At the opening, the nine members of the Cannes jury posed on the red carpet.
The French actress Juliette Binoche (61) is particularly the focus, she was chosen as jury president for the 78th Film Festival of Cannes. For her appearance on the red carpet, she chose a complete outfit in a delicate lemon yellow, a strikingly wide collar of Jacquemus creation caused something special.
Strong and Berry also like it in monkey
Two other Hollywood stars were right next to her: Jeremy Strong (46), who recently made a name for himself with the series “Succession” and was able to nominate as the best supporting actor at the Oscars at the beginning of the year for the Trump drama “The Apprentice”. He also rely on a monochrome look like Binoche, in his case a cord outfit in a light chestnut brown. Almost his trademark: a fishing hat that fits color -coordinated was also a must. Strong belongs to the jury as well as Halle Berry (58), who had chosen a two-part black tweed dress from Chanel for the solemn event.
The remaining six places in this year’s jury are internationally occupied. The Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher, the Congolese director Dieudo Hamadi, South Korean director Hong Sangsoo, the Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, the Mexican director Carlos Reygadas and the French-Moroccan writer Leïla Slimani complete the native team of experts. Together they assess the 22 films in the competition for the Golden Palm competition in the course of the film festival.
