Judge Barbara Salesch now judges in the evening
Barbara Salesch once triggered a boom of court shows in Germany. At the age of 75 she dares something new: RTL lets the ingenious judge speak right at the best show time.
TV judge Barbara Salesch, known with afternoon court shows, gets a completely new program in the evening. She is entitled “Barbara Salesch – the greatest process of her life: the dead in the Rhine” and is intended to present the “most sensational case” of the ingenious lawyer, as RTL announced. It is a special in film aesthetics that will be broadcast on June 10th at 8:15 p.m. – in the so -called prime time, the supremacy supreme discipline.
“A six -day main hearing is shown. So she embodies herself what makes the whole thing very authentic.
“Nevertheless, production was also unusual for me because the whole format has this film character,” she reported. “We recorded some scenes four or five times. There were also camera trips directly to me.” The effort was worth it. “I think it has become a great film.”
A case that goes under the skin
However, the plot is not for weak minds. Salesch illuminates the disappearance of a married woman who was active on a dating app. It is not until eight years later her body is discovered in the Rhine and everything indicates a martyrdom. The investigation leads to a hidden dungeon. “In the negotiation, Barbara Salesch reconstructs the victim’s story of suffering between injured egos, oppressed truth and toxic relationships, which begins in the closest environment of the dead long before the actual act,” said RTL.
Other well -known lawyers from the Salesch universe will also be seen – for example Bernd Römer as a chief prosecutor and Ulrike Tasic as a defense lawyer. Among other things, filming was made at the Cologne Higher Regional Court.

Salesch – Before her television job experienced lawyer at the Hamburg Regional Court – is considered a Grande Dame of the German court show. At the end of the 1990s, she also triggered the big boom of the genre with the format “Judge Barbara Salesch” format. In 2012 she initially gave up her robe. In 2022, however, she was persuaded by RTL to a comeback. The broadcaster is currently running “Barbara Salesch – the Criminal Court” in the afternoon.
