“Tagesschau” spokesman Constantin Schreiber announced his farewell to the news program. “It was a great honor for me to be able to present the Tagesschau. After eight and a half years in the ARD-Aktuell Studio, I would like to work journalistically again in the future,” he said. On May 25th, he will speak the 8pm edition for the last time.

The Middle East expert awarded with the Grimme Prize has again chosen Egypt as a setting for “Akhenaten Curse” (Hoffmann and Campe) as in “Cleopatra’s grave”. For him it is “one of the most exciting countries in the world – if only because of its history,” he says in an interview with the Spot on News agency. “I think it’s great that I can deal with it so diverse – in addition to the crime novels, there is also a illustrated book in autumn and a children’s book will also exist.” Egypt is also “wonderful as a backdrop for crime novels – the temple complexes, the pyramids, the historical relationships,” he adds. “I am also a big Agatha Christian fan,” reveals Schreiber about his passion for crime.
