In the legal dispute over “It Ends with Us”, Blake Lively defends herself against allegations that she had pushed her friend Taylor Swift to support.
The legal exchange of blows between actress Blake Lively (37) and her “IT Ends With Us” Co-Star Justin Baldoni (41) continues. After it has already been known that pop star Taylor Swift (35) was made up as a witness, the conflict is now going into the next round: Lively’s lawyers have decidedly rejected the recent accusations of Baldoni’s team regarding Swift in a letter to the responsible judge.
Was Taylor Swift under pressure?
In a letter submitted to US district judge Lewis J. Liman on Wednesday, Lively’s legal representatives defend themselves against claims that were previously set up by Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman. Freeedman claimed that Lively had put her good friend Taylor Swift under pressure to publicly put herself on her side – and threatened to publish private text messages if she did not do so.
“Each of the accusations in the Freedman letter is clear and proven to be wrong,” Lively’s lawyers countered in their response. They asked the court to have the letter from Baldoni’s team deleted from the files, since it was submitted “without any evidence support” and is based on an “not open anonymous source”. The lawyers accuse the opposite side of abusing the court process to launch scandalous and slanderer claims about their client into the press.
Swift distances itself
Freedman’s letter was a reaction to the court’s announcement that Swift was officially charged as a witness in the case. The singer should say what she knows about the argument from her friend. With a spokesman, however, she already had: Swift emphasized that her only connection to the film was that she had approved the use of her song “My Tears Ricochet”.
“Taylor Swift never set a foot on the set of this film, it was not involved in any casting or creative decisions,” said the speaker and pointed out that they had traveled around the world with their “Eras” tour while filming.
Long -winded legal dispute
The legal exchange of blows between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni began in December last year, when the actress sued her colleague for sexual harassment, “disturbing” and “unprofessional” behavior on the set of their joint film “It Ends with us” (German only one day “) and a dirty campaign against them.
The director rejected the allegations and submitted a counter -complaint for defamation and extortion in January – not only against Lively, but also against her husband Ryan Reynolds (48) and their PR team. In his counterclaim, among other things, he claimed that Swift and Reynolds had put him under pressure to accept a revision of the script written by LIVELY. The process that is supposed to include both complaints is scheduled for March 2026.
