Charge in England: US singer Chris Brown remains in custody

The US singer Chris Brown has been charged in England for serious assault. The 36-year-old has to remain in custody for the time being, as the British news agency PA reported. A judge in Manchester declined his request to be released on the deposit.
The police had arrested the R&B artist (“Under the Influence”, “Go Crazy”) on Thursday night in a luxury hotel in the northwestern English city. The background is an incident in London in February 2023, it said in a message from the metropolitan policy.
Supposedly hit the bottle on the head
Brown is accused of attacking a man in a night club with a bottle. The music producer stated that Brown had beaten his bottle on his head and stuck and struck him when he was already on the ground, it was said in a BBC report.
In a statement that Brown has the right to a fair process, the CROWN Prosecution Service indictment emphasized that Brown has the right. The musician initially had no statement on the allegations.
According to their own statements, the “The Sun” tabloid had made the police aware of Brown’s entry into Britain. Only then did the arrest have occurred, the paper wrote.
Singer Rihanna attacked
Brown had 20 years ago with the single “Run It!” made the breakthrough. Many other songs and successful albums followed. The Grammy award winner also noticed due to violent attacks. In 2009 he had attacked his girlfriend, the singer Rihanna (37), and was sentenced to probation and social lessons.
In 2016 he was arrested after a woman Brown accused of holding her a weapon on her head. In 2017 he was arrested in the US state of Florida because he was supposed to have attacked a photographer.
Concerts also planned in Germany
The US artist ended up in Manchester on Wednesday, as PA reported. There and in other cities, he wanted to play concerts in June and July, including in Germany. On Friday he was now published in court in Manchester.
The presumed act was too serious to be negotiated before her court, the judge in Manchester decided, according to PA. She referred the case to a court in London, the Southwark Crown Court. A hearing is scheduled to take place on June 13th.
