In a touching Instagram post, Adam Sandler says goodbye to Morris, the alligator actor from the cult film “Happy Gilmore”.
Adam Sandler (57) mourns a special film partner. The comedian took farewell to Morris on Instagram, the alligator, who played an unforgettable role in his cult film “Happy Gilmore” from 1996. As was known this week, the reptile of the impressive age of over 80 years died.
“Goodbye, Morris. We’ll all miss you,” writes Sandler in his humorous but still touching Instagram post. “You could be hard with directors, makeup images, costume designers – actually for everyone with arms or legs – but I know that you did it for the ultimate well -being of the film.”
Humorous obituary for an animal colleague
the Hollywood star also remembers alleged diva just in the alligator on the film set: “The day you didn’t want to get out of your trailer until we sent you 40 heads of salad, I taught me an important lesson: never compromise on your art.” Sandler also jokes: “I will never forget how we shared a three-musketeer bar while meals and you left the bigger half to me. But that’s exactly how you were.”
Morris’ fate in the film “Happy Gilmore” was known to be dramatic – Sandler’s title character headed the alligator with a golf club to save the separated hand of his trainer Chubb (played by Carl Weathers). With humor, the actor refers to it: “I know that your beheading in the first film made your participation in the sequel impossible, but we all appreciated the fruit basket and the funny note.”
Over 30 years of film career
Morris died this week. The alligator, which was estimated at more than 80 years, appeared in numerous films and TV shows from 1975 to 2006 before retreating the alligator farm.
“I will miss the sound of your cock that glides through the high grass, your cold, bumpy skin, but most of all I will miss your contagious laugh,” added Sandler in his obituary. “Thanks to Mr. Young for the care for the years, and Vaya con dios, old friend.”
Continued without Morris
The fans can look forward to the long -awaited continuation of the cult film. “Happy Gilmore 2” starts on July 25th on Netflix. In addition to Adam Sandler, Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller and director Dennis Dugan also return. Among other things, Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Nick Swardson, Scott Mescudi and NFL star Travis Kelce are new to the cast.
