Douze Points – Twelve points: This is the dream of all participants in the Eurovision Song Contest. The mood in Basel is great.
In Basel, the mood in the best sun weather is left out shortly before the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). There have been tens of thousands in the city since the beginning of the week, which make night a day even without tickets for the ESC shows. Bands heat up the audience on several free stages that marveled at Swiss looseness. The police are present everywhere in Basel, but is mostly busy to show ESC fans.
Unlike in 2024, there have been no major protests in Malmö in Basel. The entrance to the Eurovisionstrasse with many street cafes and cabarets is provided with mobile rambstones so that no car can drive into the crowd. In the Eurovision Village around the exhibition center, there is also a singing, and there are karaoke stages and selfie boxes as well as quiz and other hands-on activities for the audience.
Abor & Tynna for Germany
At 9:00 p.m. it will be serious for the 26 nations in the final, including the sibling duo “Abor & Tynna” for Germany. After a long dry spell with predominantly rear seats, they are supposed to succeed Lena, who last won the ESC for Germany with the song “Satellite” in 2010.
Abor (26) and Tynna (24) are not on favorite places in the betting agencies. For weeks, Sweden has been in the first place that competes with the trio kaj and a funny sauna song. Accordingly, JJ (24) from Austria with a ballad about unsuccessful love war and the French Louane (28), who sings about her died mother, also have good chances. Germany is in the middle of the betting agencies.
