US President Trump accuses the news channel CBS News the publication of a misleading contribution. Now another manager says goodbye.
In the middle of the dispute between US President Donald Trump and CBS News, the US news broadcaster loses a prominent face again. CEO Wendy McMahon announced her resignation, as several US media reported, citing a message to the workforce. In this, the broadcaster has described the recent months as “challenging”, quoted the “Washington Post”. It had become clear that the company and it were in the future orientation of different views.
Last month, the senior producer of the renowned program “60 Minutes”, Bill Owens, left CBS News after Trump had brought a billion dollar lawsuit against the news magazine. Trump accuses “60 Minutes” of misleading a interview with his then democratic opponent Kamala Harris during the election campaign last year.
According to the “New York Times”, lawyers doubt the prospects of success of the lawsuit, the previous owner of the CBS news mother Paramount, Shari Redstone, still strives for a comparison with the president. This could also be due to the planned sale of the Hollywood veteran to the Skydance studio: the authorities still have to agree to the billion dollar projects.
