Stuttgart’s “Tatort” commissioner Richy Müller exchanges the jungle with the jungle – and is already very excited. Why the musical excursion is like a test of courage.
“Tatort” commissioner Richy Müller in an unfamiliar role: The 69-year-old television investigator soon resonates in the “Tarzan” musical in Stuttgart, at least for a while. Müller, who is otherwise chasing criminals in his role as an investigator, is now becoming a villain in around a dozen guest appearances. In the Disney piece, he slips into the role of Clayton – a large game hunter who leads into the jungle as an expedition leader Jane and creates Tarzan with the great ape.
A classic colonial villain with jungle hat and heavy shotgun-the role is a test of courage for Müller in several ways. “I am unusually excited,” he said in the run-up to the rehearsals of the German press agency. “I do my job for almost 50 years, but that’s something special.”
Müller says he admired musical actors for singing, dancing, dancing, moving extremely – and would not be out of breath. Singing is not necessarily his profession, said the actor. And he haven’t played bad guys either. “It is said that the evil or roles on the other side are more interesting. I’ll do it now and I’ll find out where my Clayton is sitting.”
In any case, he had never played on such a big stage, said Müller. The Palladium Theater in Stuttgart has 1,800 seats. The work as a commissioner in front of the camera is rather introverted, because everything has to take place inside, without great facial expressions, says Müller. Theater, on the other hand, must be space -wide. And: In contrast to the TV shoot, the idea in the theater must sit. “You can’t say:” Sorry, I’ll do it again. “”
Another advantage of the musical: you don’t have to wait for the odds, you have to receive direct feedback. “You can already feel whether you can captivate the audience during the game.”
