Princess Diana: Your iconic clothing is auctioned

Attention fans of Princess Diana: several of her iconic clothing – including the red ski suit – will soon be auctioned.

28 years after her accident death, Princess Diana (1961-1997) still touches many people. Her numerous fashion statements remain unforgettable. Several of their looks come under the hammer at the end of June: This will auctions her famous red Nylon Skioutfit, a cream-colored evening dress by Catherine Walker with an estimated price between 200,000 and $ 300,000 and the floral “Caring Dress” from the Bellville Sasso fashion house, which is estimated at up to $ 200,000. The first bids can already be submitted on the homepage.

With the “Princess Diana’s Style & a Royal Collection”, the auction house, based in Beverly Hills, advertises “the largest collection of Princess Diana’s iconic wardrobe, which ever was for sale at an auction”. In addition to clothing, the auction also includes a selection of accessories, including shoes and designer bags, such as one of the Lady-Dior handbags.

Three very special pieces by Princess Diana

Diana was seen several times in her iconic red ski suit from 1985 to 1992. The deep red skiutfit is fully isolated and has an asymmetrical zipper and a cutout. The HEAD brand ensemble consists of a blouson-style top with overlapping shoulders and Dolman sleeves. In contrast, the suit trousers are waisted and streamlined and complements the volume of the top.

How Diana combined the suit during the respective winter holidays of the Royals attracted attention worldwide. So she presented the ski suit in 1986 with a braided headband and golden creoles, in 1991 she wore it to a short bob and striking black sunglasses. The estimate is $ 30,000 to $ 50,000.

The Falcon evening dress, which is estimated to be up to $ 300,000, is even more likely to bring more. Catherine Walker designed this embroidered evening dress made of silk bar for Diana’s journey through Saudi Arabia in 1986. The dress has a high neckline and long, pointed sleeves in guinne-style style. It is decorated with sequins, pearls and embroidery of falcons with spread wings that begin on the left shoulder.

Diana’s “Caring Dress” dates from 1988 and is said to be worth between $ 100,000 and $ 200,000. The silk dress designed by Belville Sasso with flower pattern has carried the former wife of today’s king Charles on numerous occasions. Designer David Sasso called the dress “Caring Dress” because Diana often wore it during hospital and patient visits. It consists of a floral, blue crepe-de-chine fabric with a pastel-colored floral pressure, a high circular neckline, a raid surface and a knee-length skirt.
