After four years, Julia Augustin returns to “AWZ”. In an interview, she reveals how she feels in the role of Vanessa Steinkamp today.
In 2021 Julia Augustin (37) said goodbye to the RTL-Daily “Everything that matters” (also) and her role as Vanessa Steinkamp. However, she will now return for a guest appearance and will then be seen “for some time” again every day at “everything that matters”, as the broadcaster announced in February. But how did the actress’s comeback appear?
Julia Augustin: “AWZ” as “second home”
“Actually, I actually got a call and then discussions were held,” says Julia Augustin in an interview with the news agency Spot on News. “‘AWZ’ is something like my second home and of course it was not difficult for me to say yes.” Her favorite memories of their “AWZ” time are the scenes, “which take place around the Steinkamp-E dessert. With many emotional moments, but also infinite laughing cramps.”
When returning to the set, she was very excited, “whether and what has changed – apart from a few new faces, everything remained the same,” sums up the actress. “It was and is still very familiar. A bit like coming home.” She had “contact” with her colleagues from time to time, “but of course the Daily cosmos turns quickly. It was all the more beautiful to see Tatjana, Silvan and Kaja again and realize that it feels like I wasn’t gone.”
And how does your role from the Steinkamp family return? “Vanessa worked on a very interesting research project in the laboratory in Seoul. She is all the more happy to work with living patients again,” says Augustin. In the role, she still feels very comfortable, “which is probably because I played her half a life. But I also ask myself questions and I am about to find out what has changed in Vanessa in recent years.”
Planned long -term comeback?
She has followed the events at “AWZ” since her farewell “in phases”. “You have to stay up to date.” In addition, Augustin reveals how she spent the time after her exit: “I bought an old house in the country with my fiancee, which we have renovated in-house. In addition, I took care of the garden, my dogs and the cat and let my mind wander for a while. When I was bored, I took a look behind the camera and took a lot of time. learned. “
Augustin does not want to reveal whether she can imagine a long -term return to “AWZ”: “Of course, I will not reveal that at this point! That would be boring.” And what do your plans generally look like in the acting world? “As an actress, you never know exactly what the future brings – it always remains exciting. Let’s see what will be!”
